Dog Drying Coats - Surfdog Australia
If you want an effective Drying Coat that will last a lifetime and look beautiful please read how we are different from all the rest. We are not charging more than others we are just making them a lot better.
Ok so we did actually create the 1st purpose made dog drying coat 15 years ago.. before that you could get a cheap towel with bunny ears that looked cute but didn't fit and didn't dry.
Origin. 100's of sellers have now caught on to Drying Coats but all of them, yes all of them, have no involvement in the quality, comfort or design. All the Drying Coats (apart from Dr Lisa's) you see online come from huge factories made in China they make in 100,000's which are even available direct to you from the invader that starts with T and ends with U. You will see the same design available in any searches you do. Usually they come to you direct from these factories. Even though they will be sold as the sellers own product.
Stock. We make about 2000 Drying Coats a year all which we keep in stock here in Western Australia
Weight. If you buy a cheap Drying Coat (say a large size) it will weigh about 100 grams.... our large weighs almost 500grams. that is because of the density and thickness of the fabric. You would have to wear 4 of the cheap ones to get the same coverage as ours.
Drying power. A Drying Coat can only absorb the same amount of water as the weight of the fabric- so if a large drying coat weight is 100grams it will absorb 100mls (like a cup of coffee), ours absorb almost half a litre of water away from your dog's coat. If you use a Surfdog Drying Coat on a soaking wet dog it will draw all the water from the coat. Leaving your dog dry. If you do this with a cheap one your dog will remain wet even though the coat is soaking
Fabric. Cheaper coats are made with a looped pile fabric, (cheaper to produce) this is the same fabric you get for cleaning cloths. Surfdog Drying Coats have long threads, not loops.. this draw moisture out of your dogs coat and does not snag or shrink. Your Surfdog Drying Coat will last through many generations of dogs.
Colours. We dye our own fabric as we want to have beautiful bright colours that last a long time. You will not see colours like our anywhere else!
Fastening. Most coats use velcro. Its a cheap solution and allows the maker to make in only a few sizes that can then be adjusted to sometimes fit. We don't use velcro, it has a short life, particularly when used near fur, sand and water. It is also stiff and uncomfortable. We use a long wide fabric belt to snuggle tummies and fasten easily.
Design and comfort. We make 8 sizes so our coats fit perfectly, they are shaped, giving ample room for chest, necks, tummies and bums. We do not need velcro.. they just fit! We have a tail hole, which helps keep the coat straight on the back and allows you to adjust the length of the coat on the back. It also allows your dogs tail to be free... dogs hate anything that interferes with their tails! Customers send us images of their dogs and we make frequent adjustments to the shape if we see a size not fitting perfectly. If a Drying Coat fits well your dog will enjoy wearing, it will dry better, and look beautiful.

Dog Raincoats - SUPER
The Super Dog Raincoat has so many features as a result of feedback from customers. Every feature asked for has been included in our new Raincoats. These Raincoats run a little Larger than our Free Walk Coats so please double check your dogs back length. XS dogs are best suited to our Free Walk Coats
