How to care for and use your Drying Coat

  • 1. Slip the coat over your dog’s head
  • 2. Fasten the belt around the tummy
  • 3. Smooth the long microfibre fibres to absorb water
  • 4. Leave on 10–30 minutes depending on how wet they are
  • 5. Shake out the coat and hang to dry

Why our fabric is unique

  • Our water absorbent dog coats are made of quick drying long-pile fabric that pulls water from fur right down to the skin — helping your dog dry 5–10× faster than a towel. (a Large size can absorb 2 litres of water from a coat)
  • After testing all possible toweling fabrics on wet dogs (cotton, bamboo, pretty patterns etc) the unique micro fibre fabric (we have used for 15 years) is an outstanding winner. Cotton gets heavy and soggy, bamboo is just too lightweight, patterns have to be printed on thin fabric and absorb nothing. All of these have looped threads which snag.
  • A  Surfdog Drying coat fabric has multiple single threads which can pull 4 times its weight in water from your dog’s coat. They also do not snag making the fabric extremely durable. We bind the edges of our Drying coats with cotton piping. This ensures the coat hangs well without curling at the edges.
