Our dog lifejackets are designed as a full-body safety harness (the same harness design as used by heli-dogs), not just a floating cape. Unlike many dog life jackets that only wrap foam around the top of your dog, our design supports the heavy chest and shoulders, keeps your dog’s head and front end higher in the water, and allows you to lift them safely back onto your board or boat. Perfect for beach dogs, SUP pups, boating, and water-loving seniors.
We don't expect you'll be dropping onto your SUP or your kayak from a helicopter (or maybe you will to your super-yacht), but if you did then you'd be just fine using this jacket.
Why these Dog Lifejackets Are Different
Most dog life jackets use a single piece of buoyancy foam over the back with straps (tummy cutting!) or fabric underneath and a buckle or Velcro closure at the chest. These can act like floating capes, letting your dog hang underneath the jacket with little support for the chest and shoulders. Most leave the chest open and there is a great risk of your dog slipping out of the front opening when lifted.
Our lifejacket is different. Instead of a cape, it forms a fully enclosed harness with the same DNA as the harness used to lift search dogs under helicopters. It’s designed to cradle your dog from below, keep their body balanced in the water and allow secure lifting back onto your board, boat or jetty.
